Sydenham's first library building pre dates 1830 and has been used as a general store, blacksmith's shop, drug store and as a flower shop. The public library started in Sydenham in 1903, entered the Frontenac County Public Library as it's first and only outlet in 1968 and from 1976 to? was located in this old limestone building.
