Biographical history
Irene Dixon Bamford was born in the United States in 1834. She moved to Wolfe Island with her husband, Wells Bamford (a sailor). She had three children: Isabel, Wells, and Devolsom.
Custodial history
Having been found in a dresser drawer in the home of Devolsom (Voltie) Bamford on Wolfe Island 1952, these diaries were maintained in the possession of Flora King and Grace (Vincent) Dickinson, then passed on to Grace's daughter, Nancy Chamberlain.
