The files relate to two generations of the family - William Rupert Davies and Arthur Llewellyn Davies. The records are valuable for a study of their newspaper and radio broadcasting interests. In addition there is a large collection of Margaret Esther Davies correspondence, subject files and addresses.

In addition, many aspects of G.W. McLaughlin's life --and to some extent that of his family as well-- is documented through correspondence, legal and financial records, subject files, and photographs from the time of his entering into partnership with his brother R. Samuel McLaughlin, to the period following his retirement from the automotive business.
