General note

The ferry was powered by two horses and sponsored (owned?) by Napanee Council (or merchant group). It ran across Hay Bay between a south shore dock close to Hayburn Church and Huffman's Island, north side.It cut distance around the head of the bay into half, and was hoped to keep trade in Napanee away from Kingston. It ran for a few years and was operated by Roy Wagar and Adam Howitson.
