General note

Edward (1841-1910) was the eldest son of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert of Saxe-Cobourg-Gotha. He married a Danish Princess, Alexandra, in 1863. The Prince succeeded his mother in 1901 and reigned until his death in 1910 as one of the most popular British Sovereigns.
