Biographische Angaben
Dr. David C. Symington was a world-renowned specialist in rehabilitation medicine who received many awards for his dedication to disabled populations around the world. Born in Glasgow, he graduated from the University of Glasgow medical school in 1951. Dr. Symington became a Professor of Queen's University in 1966, specifically hired to establish its Department of Physical Medicine and School of Rehabilitation Medicine.He was also the Founding Director of the Regional Rehabilitation Centre for Eastern Ontario. He was a Past President of Rehabilitation International and was also the Chairman of its Medical Committee. He was a member of the World Health Organization (WHO), serving on their expert advisory panel on rehabilitation. Dr. Symington passed away in Kingston on May 27 2020.
