Biographical history
William Newman was born in 12 Janaury 1873, in Edwardsburgh Township, Grenville County, Ontario, the son of John W. Newman. He was educated in Prescott and Kingston, Ontario. In 1903, he married a Miss Allen. He raised dairy cattle near Lorneville, and was President of the Eastern Ontario Dairymans Association, and the Eastern Ontario Creameries Association. He represented Victoria in the Legislative Assembly of Ontario, as a Liberal member, from 1926 to 1937.
