General note
Half Moon Bay is located on the South side of Bostwick Island in the Admiralty Group of the Thousand Islands near Gananoque. It was given its name because of its crescent moon shape. In 1887, a group of campers began to meet on Sunday evenings in the bay for services. These meetings soon attracted campers for miles around as well as people from Gananoque. In the summer months, this outdoor chapel is crowded with worshipers. David Wallace of Boston, Massachusetts, owner of the property died in 1904 and bequeathed the Bay to be held in trust as a place of Worship.
