Rev. John Stuart, D.D. 1740-1811. Son of Presbyterian Irish parents. John was ordained in 1770 in the Church of England. He became a missionary to the Mohawks and settlers at Fort Hunter. Married Jane O'Kill and had five sons and three daughters. His eldest son, the Rev. George O'Kill Stuart followed his father as rector of Kingston in 1811.
