General note
Saint Paul's Church, located at the corner of Montreal and Queen Streets, was built in 1845. The church was opened for worship on Saint Paul's Day, January 25, 1847. In 1854 it was gutted by fire but within a year the structure was restored. In 1958, the Kingston Historical Society unveiled a plaque in Saint Paul's churchyard marking the site as the oldest burial ground in Kingston. A second plaque is dedicated to the memory of Molly Brant who is buried there and who was the sister of Indian Chief Joseph Brant.
