General note

Robert Rogers (1731-1795). Rogers, born in New Hampshire, brought together a company of scouts, Rogers Rangers, for service against the French in the Seven Years War. Ordered to take possession of the western fur posts in 1760. During the American Revolution, he organized and commanded ranger units for the British, the QueensRangers (1775-6) and the King's Rangers (1779).
