General note
Sir John Johnson (1742-1830). Son of the famed Sir William Johnson, Sir John was knighted by George III in 1765 for his distinguished service in his teenage years at the battle Lake George (1755), the seige of Fort Niagara and in the Pontiac uprising. During the American Revolution, he recruited and let two battalions of the King's Royal Regiment of New York. In 1783 he became Superintendant-General of Indians Affairs in British North Americal.
