Biographical history

John Nordman (1900-1971), a US Naval Officer, was born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan to immigrants from the United States. In his teens, he and his parents moved back to the USA. In the 1930's, he was sent to Manchuria as a military observer.

Scope and content

The fonds consists of two photo albums, containing images from Nordman's trip to Manchuria. Included in these images are scenes of concentration camps and war atrocities, street scenes and photos of buildings.
