Fonds consists of a collection of correspondences, papers and articles. Includes: Typed letter addressed to "Queen's Men Overseas" dated October 31st, 1918 wishing them a Merry Christmas and letting them know how proud the Queen's community is of their service; one copy of Volume XXXVII, Number 4 of the "Journal of The Presbyterian Historical Society" dated December 1959 and including an article entitled "Student Days in Glasgow University" written by R.B. Taylor; letters of correspondence between W.E. McNeill, a former colleague of Taylor's at Queen's; Christmas card from Mr. and Mrs. R.B. Taylor to the student body dated 1922-1923; letter from W.L. Mackenzie King dated October 7th, 1919 regarding the potential problem of acting as a Harvard representative at Queen's while being awarded an honorary LL.D. degree from Queen's; booklet commemorating the festivities put on by the Rocky Mountain Club for Theodore Roosevelt's birthday dated October 27th, 1919. Also includes a bound photocopy of Taylor's unpublished memoir.
The fonds consists of correspondence and a diary (1862) written by James Thomson, as well as genealogical notes on the Thomson family. The correspondence includes letters he wrote to his father, mother and sister in Scotland, and later to his wife in Edwardsburgh. Also includes an obituary notice of his son's (1949).
The fonds consists of correspondence, manuscripts, and material relating to his work during the Second World War as Naval correspondent for the British Broadcasting Corporation, research notes, BBC news scripts, and news clippings.The fonds also includes family material and material on Tunstall's travels after his retirement.
The fonds consists of the correspondence of Sir John A. Macdonald. Included are letters from politicians, cabinet ministers, bureaucrats, religious figures and businessmen. There are approximately 100 individuals represented in this series with whom there was considerable correspondence. Among the most voluminous correspondence is that from Gilbert McMicken (secret service reports); Sir George Stephen; Sir Alexander Campbell; Hon. Edgar Dewdney; Sir Alexander T. Galt; Lawrence Vankoughnet; Sir David Macpherson; and Sir Charles Tupper.
Collection reflects Hawkins activities as the College Life Photographer and the images depict student activities, the student strike and various campus buildings at Queen's University. Of particular interest are photographs of the Tool Shed and Mining building and interior candid shots of the Student Memorial Union. Also includes images of Fort Henry prior to restoration.
