The fonds consists of correspondence, legal documents, financial papers and photographs of the Buchanan family from Kemptville, Ontario. Also included are estate papers for William Buchanan, 1792-1875, Alexander Buchanan, 1820-1889, John Hunter (died 1868) and William Martin.
Transcripts of letters, 1842 May 9 and May 17, to Dr. Thomas Rolph and Sir Allen McNab. Relate to Buchanan's visit to England and political matters in Canada. Also contains a flyer advertising the publication of a series of articles by Buchanan.
