The records consist of the minutes of the Kingston Public Utilities Commission from 1941 to 1972, and from 1994 to 1997. The minutes of the Kingston Transit Commission are included for 1962, the year it was taken over by the P. U. C. There are account books from 1904 on (the year the Light, Heat and Power Company was taken over by the city), financial statements for the 1930s, 1940s and 1950s, and some warrants and vouchers for scattered years in the early part of the century.
The fonds also contains gas and electric registers for 1911 and 1915, gas and electric daily report books for a number of years, records of sewer,water and gas services, and order book for the years 1948 to 1952, a record of the monthly output of gas and electricity for the years 1926 to 1939 and other miscellaneous items.
The Walter Seymour Allward papers contain 1 metre of textual records, plus architectural drawings. The main focus of the papers in both media is the Vimy Ridge Memorial, near Arras, France erected to World War I 'missing' Canadians by the Canadian Battlefields Memorial Commission 1922-36, with Walter Allward as architect and sculptor. This imposing monument was the major work in Allward's career but he created several other monuments in Canada before, and after, World War I e.g. Peterborough, Ottawa, Brantford.
Fonds consists of the material created and accumulated by Mary E. Rawlyk in pursuit of her artistic work. The collection consists of biographical information; newspaper clippings that include clippings on Rawlyk and her work and exhibitions; photographs of the artist and her exhibitions and workspaces; art show memorabilia including gallery pamphlets and promotional information; journals, letters and correspondence including personal journal entries, correspondence between public & commercial galleries, and personal correspondence; teaching documents from Rawlyk’s time teaching at St. Lawrence college; lists of inventory and lists of work; rentals and sales information; materials Rawlyk had compiled to create a catalogue of her work and website information; photographs of maquettes; catalogues from galleries and exhibitions; and contextual materials.
Byer's Cancer Cure advertising pamphlet. Published in Markham, Ontario, in 1899 by Daniel Byer outlining causes of cancer as well as testimonials from "patients who have been cured."
This fonds contains a small number of family photographs and newspaper clippings, a certificate of recognition regarding the building of Beth Israel Synagogue on Queen Street, Kingston as well as a list of seat holders at said synagogue, a memo from the employees of the Oberndorffer Cigar Factory on Simon Oberndorffer's retirement as well as an Oddfellows certificate.
Fonds predominantly consists of records created and maintained by the Fund in pursuit of their goal to grant funds for projects which carry out the aims of the organization. Also contains governance records such as minutes, annual reports, and policies relating to the Endowment Council.
