Collection consists of travellers' accounts of visits to Kingston and vicinity (1671-1900); copies of articles and booklets relating to the history of Kingston and district.
The collection consists of a number of tintypes and other photographs collected by Herman Balesic over the years. The hand-tinted tintype portraits were mainly taken by J.D. Wallis, melainotype artist, who had an office on Market Square in Kingston, Ontario. The other portraits are examples of the work of other local photographers such as Spohn, Bell, Abbott and Sheldon and Davis.
Correspondence includes letters from General H.D.G. Crerar, the Secretary to King George VI, Norman Robertson, W.L. Mackenzie King, the Assistant Secretary to the Governor-General, Dwight D. Eisenhower, Ian A. Mackenzie, James Forestall, Field Marshall Montgomery of Alamein, and Eleanor Roosevelt.
The collection consists of drawings for a farm house on Hickory Island for J.W. Wood by Warren, Wetmore and Morgan Architects of New York, collected as part of the "Ah, Wilderness" exhibition at the Agnes Etherington Art Centre.
Collection consists of reminiscences entitled Fifty Years of the 'Queen's Gang': A Chronicle, being "a rather unique group of Queen's graduates [who] began their fellowship while attending the Peterborough Normal School in the 1930's ...".
Fonds consists of research notes, drafts, final typescript, and sound recordings relating to Dr. Neatby's work ("'to strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield': Queen's University Volume I, 1841-1917") on the offlcial history of Queen's Universty at Kingston.
Fonds consists of numerous photographs: albumen, carte de visite, and portraits of various Reesor or Fowler family members, though predominantly the subject matter of the photographs is Hilda Reesor. The photographs reflect a range of photographers, from Toronto to Kingston. Also contains a small amount of correspondence and numerous Christmas cards to Hilda Reesor.
Fonds consists of correspondence (a letter making reference to the flu epidemic in 1918); printed material; and memorabilia including Queen's jackets, a tam, and a book marker with the Queen's crest which was distributed to University students by the Imperial Tobacco Company, manufacturer of Player's "MILD"; the graduation diplomas, from Queen's University at Kingston, of Ann Elizabeth Hill (McJanet) and David John McJanet.
