The fonds consists of material created and kept by Harry Tanner. Much of the material that still exists was originally that of Dorothy Todd Tanner, that remained in Harry's possession when she passed away. The fonds has been divided into two series, material seemingly created and or accumulated by Harry Tanner about his life and work, and a second series of material that was maintained by Dorothy Tanner from, or about, Harry that then came to be in Harry's possession after her death.
The collection consists of postcards, photographs and a dinner menu assembled by Margaret Hutson pertaining to Harry Litchfield. Of particular note are the photographs of the Thousand Islands Railway engine and the early model automobiles.
The fonds consists of correspondence, diaries,subject files, writings, speeches and addresses, photographs, diplomas and certificates, clippings, and artifacts pertaining to the distinguished career of neurosurgeon Harry Botterell from his time in the Canadian Armed Forces through his busy retirement. Included also are several important studies relating to the Canadian penal system undertaken on behalf of the Canadian federal government.

His research covered the the general topics of cultural beliefs of patients and doctors, comprehension of literature and mathematics, and clinical interviewing methods. Included are lecture notes, conference papers and published articles. Cataraqui, course certificates for stoker rating and technical training and a certificate of service in the Royal Canadian Naval Volunteer Reserve.
