The majority of the fonds consists of newspaper and magazine clippings, community notices, advertising brochures, election materials, festival programs and ferry information that were gathered together by Renie Marshall. A small portion of the fonds consists of manuscript material, and publishing correspondence, for her book 'Ganounkouesnot: The Long Island Standing Up'.

Children's activities, family photos, identified and unidentified group and individual shots. The most consistant person that is identifiable throughout the material is Iryna (Irene) Syrko. There are a few textual documents as well, of particular note is material pertaining to Hanna Gaertner and an official photo id for Irene Syrko.
Transcripts of letters, 1842 May 9 and May 17, to Dr. Thomas Rolph and Sir Allen McNab. Relate to Buchanan's visit to England and political matters in Canada. Also contains a flyer advertising the publication of a series of articles by Buchanan.

The fonds consists of a number of booklets written by Isabel K. Eddy (IKE) relating to various family members. 'The Life of Robert Harkness, 1833-1883', and 'A Captain's Story: Donald Norval Eddy ~ 1918-1945', are tributes to her grandfather, and brother-in-law and his family, respectively. The former recounts among many, the story, based on letters home, of Robert Harkness' adventures with the famous cross-country trek of the Overlanders. The latter tells the story, based largely on letters he wrote home as well, of Donald Norval Eddy's time in England and France, as a Captain with the Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, during World War Two. 'Thomas Henry Race, 1845-1924', tells the remarkable story of her paternal grandfather, from his days as an eye-witness at the Battle of Gettysburg, to his move to Mitchell, Ontario, where he began publishing the 'Mitchell Recordor', to his time as a Trade Commissioner, as a result of a political appointment arranged by Prime Minister Sir Wilfrid Laurier, attending a large Exhibition in New Zealand. 'Letters of a Subaltern', divided into three parts, contain letters (1941-1945) home from the front during World War Two, from her husband-to-be, Robert C. Eddy.

The fonds consist predominantly of correspondence, photographs, and educational records from Isabel McLaughlin's late adolescence and adulthood; however, a few letters and educational records are from Isabel's childhood in Oshawa. The collection reflects Isabel's relationship with her family and friends and her involvement in the arts community, both as a patron and as an artist. Isabel's friendship and patronage extended to many well-known Canadian artists, including A.Y. Jackson, Lawren Harris, Anne Savage, Arthur Lismer, Prudence Heward, Yvonne McKague Housser, and Timothy Findley. Her involvement in arts organizations, such as the Art Students' League, the Canadian Group of Painters, the Haliconian Club, and the Robert McLaughlin Gallery, are also reflected in this collection. The fonds consist of the following series: Artistic activities, Cards, Correspondence, Education, Exhibition, Oshawa, Paris, Personal, and Photographs. Also included in this fonds is the sous-fonds of Robert Samuel McLaughlin. This sous-fonds contains material that Isabel had gathered together and seperated from her own records that pertained, or had belonged, to her father, R.S.McLaughlin.
