The fonds consists of records created over 150 years by William Sawyer and his descendants. Predominantly the fonds is comprised of photographs, artwork, notes and prints that were created and received by William Sawyer in his role as photographer and portrait painter. Also included is documentation surrounding his career and activities that was gathered, or transcribed, by two generations of his descendants in their research and commemoration of his life and work. The fonds has been divided into three series: Agnes Etherington Art Centre exhibition; Marion Wallace material; and William Sawyer material.

File consists of testimonials regarding Ball's attendance at Queen's, and a copy and transcript of his graduation diploma. Also includes a commendation document and testimonial signed for Ball, 1845, by Liddell, Campbell and Williamson, Queen's University (Kingston, Ontario).

Fonds consists of the diaries (2 volumes) of William Smith, containing a detailed narrative of his activities in England and his first seven months in Quebec dated January 1784 to May 1787. The entries cover events, institutions, political affairs and descriptions of persons encountered by W. Smith. The first volume includes one of the only accounts of Canadian affairs from a London vantage point given that the papers of Sir Guy Carleton were destroyed. The second volume deals predominantly with Quebec.

Fonds consists of a diary and plant physiology notebooks by Prof. W.T. MacClement, as well as a photograph of graduates of Sydenham High School who attended Queen's, with individuals identified on the mat. Also includes lecture notes in biology as student and teacher at Queen's University.
