This copy of a letter was written to her daughter Elizabeth on the occasion of her marriage to Colonel Colley Lyons Lucas Foster (1778-1843) on June 24, 1813 at Quebec, Canada. The intention of the letter is to offer advice to her daughter on the obligations and duties of a wife and mother.
Relates to appreciation for a copy of the book,'Il Meo Patacca,' and offers translations and explanations of various passages. Includes a notefrom John S. Boasi to Mr. and Mrs. Bigelow praising Basso's explanations and providing forty-nine translations of all of the engraving captions in the book.

Also includes a small broadside relating to the collection of books selected by the Club to be sent to Europe called the "Rebellion Record for Europe" indicating who was to receive a complete set of the "Record".
