John Alexander Edmison fonds

Fonds consists of correspondence, subject files, clippings, war diaries and notebooks relating to all aspects of Edmison's career in the fields of criminology and university administration, including the National Parole Board of Canada, and Queen's University at Kingston. In addition, it contains a very large collection of his writings, addresses, and photographs. Also includes material relating to Edmison's work with the United Nations Relief and Rehabilitation Administration.

Fonds consists of correspondence; subject files; manuscripts; playscripts; school notebooks; diaries; reviews; articles; typescripts of some of her writings; publications; photographs; clippings; and oral history tapes, with transcripts; one DVD-R of the National Film Board of Canada's production of "The Best Damn Fiddler from Calabogie to Kaladar,". There is considerable material relating to her book, 'Celebrate This City.' The photographs are from books on the Ottawa Valley, Kingston, and the Dalton Sailing Album.

Fonds consists of correspondence, subject files, photographs, and drafts of his manuscript William Henry Bartlett: Artist, Author, Traveller (1965-1974); correspondence, diaries, subject files, theatrical and musical programmes; photographs; and writings, pertaining to his time, and that of his wife (the late Irene Joan Porteous) as students at Queen's University at Kingston, Ontario, as an officer in World War Two, a professor and administrator at the University Geulph, and author and traveller; book reviews for "The Picturesque" and "A Part of Me is Missing"; manuscript material and reviews relating to "Slow march to a Regiment", "Sullivan Ross", and "Fast in My Enchantments"; early postcards to, and from, various family members and friends.

Lorne and Edith Pierce collection

Collections consists of Memorial Books relating to both Lorne and Edith Pierce; travel diaries; photographs; and a copy of Edith Chown Pierce's, "Canadian Glass: A Footnote to History". Nearly every Canadian literary figure of note for the period 1920 to 1960 is representedby at least some manuscript material in this collection. Among its many highlights the collection includes the letters and manuscripts of William Wilfred Campbell; Desertion in Canada by Major John Richardson; the original manuscript of William Kirby's novel, The Golden dog; manuscripts written and decorated by Wilson Macdonald; letters, manuscripts and memorabilia of Sir Charles G. D. Roberts; and the Marjorie Pickthall papers which include her diaries, letters manuscripts and sketches. Also represented are Raymond Knister, Duncan Campbell Scott, Archibald Lampman, Camille Roy, Stephen Leacock, Marius Barbeau,Audrey Alexandra Brown, Earle Birney, Katherine Hale, A. J. Pratt and Al Purdy. Some papers of artists J.E. H. Macdonald, A. Y. Jackson, C.W. Jefferys and Thoreau Macdonald are included in this collection.

The fonds consists of correspondence, manuscripts, diaries, research notes, memoranda, scrapbooks, photographs, critical commentaries, and news clippings. Correspondents include Rudyard Kipling, Alfred Noyes, Booth Tarkington, Willa Cather, Theodore and Eleanor Roosevelt, Vincent Massey and Odell Shepard, among others. The microfilm contains correspondence with Washington Irving Way, Mr. Yard, Miss Rittenhouse, J.R. Peck, Frederick Holland Day and W. Poillar.

The fonds consists of correspondence, memoranda, diaries, material by and about J.W. Dafoe, subject files, scrapbooks and miscellaneous pamphlets. The correspondence files, arranged chronologically, contain memoranda of confidential interviews on Canadian politics, trade, the economy, external affairs, defence. Often these memoranda are in the form of letters or vice versa, so the two have been filed together. The Diaries written by Grant Dexter in 1938-39 while he was in England touch on many aspects of Canadian External Affairs. Also included is a diary kept by Grant Dexter's wife Alice, outlining their life in London in 1937.

J. Douglas Gibson fonds

The fonds consists of correspondence, subject files, writings, addresses, and speeches relating to connections with major Canadian companies, Canadian Wartime Prices and Trade Board, 1940-5, and Royal Commission on Banking and Finances, 1961-63. There is also a collection of diaries that cover the period 1966 to 1982, however, they are, for the most part, daily calendars showing appointments and meetings. In addition, there is a list of the Queen's University Board of Trustees names, including Chairman J.D. Gibson. As well as a ballot for the election of a new member of the Board of Trustees.

Glenn J. Lockwood collection

The collection consists of subject files, court records, diaries and photographs. The material illustrates many aspects of the history of Montague and Kitley Townships as well as the activities of Lockwood Family. The files also contain a great deal of research material relating to the Loyal Orange Lodge and the Rural Telephone Company of Kitley Limited. Petitions to the Montague Township Council and Township Assessment rolls are invaluable for a study to the early history of this township. A large collection of photographs illustrate the social history of the area.
