Official Souvenir Programme of the Kingston Industrial Exhibition which took place in Kingston at the City Fair Grounds from September 11-14, 1928. Programme includes events, advertising from exhibitors, messages from the Fair Manager and President of the Board of Directors of the Kingston Industrial Agricultural Society, and photographs of Kingston buildings and landscapes.

The fonds consists of a ledger detailing transactions made by many Kingston hotels, stores and prominent citizens from an unknown Kingston butcher.

From 1843 to 1857 the capital of Canada had moved between Kingston, Montréal, Toronto and Quebec City. Seeing as agreement on a permanent capital was so contentious, the matter was deferred to the young Queen Victoria. The 2 pocketbooks contain articles about the proposed locations of the capital of Canada, reflecting the decidedly biased opinion that Kingston would be the best choice due to the City's location, security and lifestyle.

Journal of a trip, by an unknown writer, on the "Herald" to Denmark, the West Indies and Quebec and on the "Britannia" to Greece. The journal imparts stories of the Emporer's inspection of his fleet at Cronstadt, the port of St. Petersburg, meeting the "Queen of Hurons" in Quebec, a journey up Mount Ida in Turkey, and various other adventures.

The collection was brought together from several family branches related to the Griers, particularly from that of the Cartwright family branch. The collection is comprised of additional material from the Addison, Butler, Farrell-Purnell, Matheson, Stevenson, Stewart,and Dobbs families. Included in the collection are correspondence, journals, photographs, accounts and mementos of Brigadier-General George Strachan Cartwright, as well as photographs and a commonplace book of Anne Leman Purnell and Harriet Dobbs Cartwright. Among the photographs are images of Aden, Yemen, Delhi, India and Niagara Falls from the 1890s.

The collection consists of postcards and photographs showing mines in Timmins and Porcupine, Ontario. The collection includes images of McEnany Mine B, McIntyre Mine, Hollinger Gold Mine, Dome Mine, South Porcupine and Main St. Timmins.

Journal relates to household expenditures such as groceries, dressmaking, furniture and upkeep, with additional information pertaining to interest payments and general financial matters.
