General note

George Munro Grant (1835-1902) was perhaps Queen's greatest principal. Born at Albion Mines, Nova Scotia he was educated at the Pictou Academy and Glasgow University. From 1863-1877 he was minister of Saint Matthew's Presbyterian Church, Halifax. He was then appointed Principal of Queen's University (Taken from 'Heritage Kingston', page 190)
