History

William Banfield Carey was born on January 15, 1840 and died May 4, 1916. He obtained an M.A. from Trinity College, Toronto, was ordained deacon by the Bishop of Toronto in 1868 and priest in 1869.
He was made dean of Frontenac in 1885, archdeacon of Quinte in 1900, archdeacon of Kingston in 1912, and archdeacon of Ontario in 1912. He was rector of St. Paul's Church, Kingston from 1875 to 1916.
William Banfield Carey married Edith Marion and had a son, Travers Austin Vize Carey.
