History

The Association of Women Teaching at Queen's was formed in the early 1970's to represent women involved in teaching in all faculties and in any capacity at Queen's University. The objectives of the association were: to represent all women who teach at Queen's; to work for the implementation of the recommendations of the Principal's Report on the Status of Women at Queen's; to act in liaison with the Faculty Association of Queen's; and to encourage women to take a more active part in the functions of the university. The Association held monthly lunches, sponsored lecture series and functioned as the voice for women on campus, producing briefs and reports on matters that affected women at Queen's.
