Dr. Ada Funnell matriculated in Arts at Queen's University in 1882. She went on to become one of four women doctors to graduate from Queen's University Medical College in 1887. During her time at Queen's she was awarded scholarships every year. After graduation she went to New York for the period of one year in order to pursue post graduate work and upon her return to Canada she went into practice in Hamilton, Ontario. Within two years returned home to Trenton, where her ailing parents were residing, in order to care for them. Dr. Ada Funnell dies in december of 1904.

Centerfold started in August 1976, published by The Parachute Center for Cultural Affairs in Calgary, Alberta. One year later in 1977, The Parachute Center became Arton's, marking an increase in video and film programing and distribution as well as continued promotion of performance and music programing, residencies and exhibitions taking place at the facility and in the surrounding area. The founding editors of the magazine were Clive Robertson and Marcella Bienvenue with the editorial board expanding to ten members in 1980 after the magazine moved to Toronto with Robertson and renamed FUSE in 1979.

William Hamilton Fyfe was born in London in 1878. William won scholarships to Fettes College, Edinburgh, and to Merton College, Oxford. He took his drgree in 1901. After several years in the British educational system he toured Canada in 1930 with a group of English public school headmasters. He was offered, and accepted, the principalship of Queen's University where he remained until 1936, when he returned to Britain as the Principal of the University of Aberdeen. He remained there until he retired in 1948.

Stewart Fyfe was born in Oxbow, Saskatchewan in 1928. He was educated at Queen's University, receiving an Honours B.A. in Economics in 1949, and a M.A. in Political Studies in 1954. He conducted studies for his Ph.D. at the University of Manchester, England in Government, receiving that degree in 1958. In 1956, Stewart Fyfe was appointed to the Faculty of Queen's University as an assistant professor in the department of Political Science. Previously he was employed by the City of Kingston as Deputy City Clerk and City Planner. Concurrent with his tenure at Queen's University Dr. Fyfe served as, variously, Commissioner and Consultant for the Province of Ontario on several studies and reviews. As well, Dr. Fyfe worked in the Institute of Local Government at Queen's University from 1950-51, and also from the time of his appointment at Queen's, serving as the Institute's Director from 1968 to 1972. He has been involved with the Cataraqui Region Conservation Authority since 1977.
Knowledgeable on town planning and local government issues, Dr. Fyfe has frequently been called as an expert witness in court cases and in city council debates. His two major publications are the Waterloo Area Local Government Review (1970) and A Look to the North: Canadian Regional Experience (1974). He has published numerous articles and reports, and retired from Queen's University in 1999.
Dr. Stewart Fyfe passed away on January 30 2019.
